Outreach
A MISSIONAL CHURCH
Besides giving through the cooperative program, and to individual missionaries in Togo, West Africa, Thailand, and Hawaii, it's not at all unusual for there to be individuals or groups from our church family doing missions in our Jerusalem, Samaria, Judea and the uttermost parts of the world.
BEAUTIFUL FEET MINISTRY
In February of each year, a group of volunteers go to Ft. Worth, Texas to work in a Mission for homeless people. Beautiful Feet Ministries was started by two seminary students who saw the tremendous amount of homeless people in the Ft. Worth area.
One way we minister to the needs is to go out on the streets and distribute food and drinks to the homeless. We also help prepare the meals that are served to those who come to the mission. Donated clothes are sorted and given to the homeless.
The number of participants in the ministry team grows each year. We praise God for the increase. We are so thankful for the love and compassion our team shows to the homeless each time they go.
FELLOWSHIP MEAL
One of our outreach tools is the Wednesday night fellowship meal. Several of the retired members give of their time to come and prepare a hot meal. There is no charge for this meal but donations are accepted. We serve an average of 125 people each week. Hot meals are taken to the shut-ins.
The fellowship meal is served at 6:00 p.m. each Wednesday evening followed by a Bible study at 6:45 p.m. We welcome you to join us in this time of fellowship that provides both physical and spiritual nourishment.
GRANNY'S LOVE PUPPET MINISTRY
The puppet workers meet on the second Monday evening of each month at 6:00 p.m. (except December). More than 300,000 puppets have been distributed throughout the United States and 36 countries. Each puppet carries the plan of salvation and a card with John 3:16 on it. These cards are in different languages.
Several area churches are involved in this ministry. Each puppet is designed and hand-made with love. Anyone going on a mission trip can request these puppets. We never charge for them. God has graciously kept the needs of this ministry supplied through the church and donations.
KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY
Kairos Prison Ministry International states that their mission is to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth, as well as their families, to become loving and productive citizens of their communities.
FBCA has a group who voluntarily participates in this ministry.
NURSING HOME MINISTRY
The Nursing Home Ministry is made up of several ladies who faithfully share their time and talents to minister to the men and women in our local nursing homes showing them love and compassion. This team is dedicated in their efforts to provide fellowship, prayer and special gifts to the precious residents who are confined to the nursing home.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
The BIGGEST WEEK OF THE YEAR is during the summer when we have Vacation Bible School for our children, It always begins with a skit. They are involved in Christ-centered curricula and activities. This culminates with the Abbeville Redneck Water Park celeberation.
